Night Dreams   (7.5″ x 9″)

I felt earlier the need to attempt a different style of painting. It’s progressing but, still not at the level I wish it to be. Training. Practice. Perseverance. Tone and composition are areas in need of improvement and thus further study. Relaxation could use some work, too.

The level which I wish to rise to in this medium seems a long way off and the urge to quit sometimes arises. Most often when looking upon others work and their handling of light and style and composition. It’s daunting. Staring in the face the masterpieces of the craft and comparing my own creations to them and seeing them for the juvenile attempts that they are.

Don’t get me wrong. The magnets mentioned in previous posts are selling. Like a slow burning fuse on a box of fireworks. I foresee the night sky being lit up in fantastic colors of creativity and imagination and money falling in my path. People like them. I like that people like them and want to pay me for them. I feel good.

So, that there painting above there? That was my first attempt at an “intermediate style” watercolor.

What do you think?

I tell stories. I always have. I write and I paint and I train. Everyday. I love movies and comic books. I've been an extra in an Oscar Nominated HBO Movie. I hitch-hiked across the country. I laugh, I love and I bleed. Just like you. We share something very special, you and I. Life. Send me an email if you're interested in having me be an extra (starring roles considered) or if you'd like a fridge magnet. I paint them. They're really cool.

  1. Yes – coming on. You need to let more light in / through. You ever use a masking medium? This allows you to keep the pristine whiteness of the paper.Just a thought. And keep it up. Faint heart never won fair lady. If it was that easy everybody would be doing it wouldn’t they? Yeah, let the light in and then it’ll really explode!!!
