Wing Chun is kicking my ass. Mentally and physically. It’s not that it’s over strenuous, mind you. It’s form is soft and one is meant to relax through the entirety of Siu Lim Tao, which I am attempting. Therein lies my fault.
At first, I was tensing and flexing as I did the form. It hurt the next day, having used muscles I hadn’t in a while. But it got easier as I learned to breathe and relax. My fault lies in ‘trying’ to relax.
So, this morning I focused while doing my Siu Lim Tao. I focused on my body and the form and moved slowly, breathing, keeping correct posture. Know what? I didn’t have to try to relax. I simply was.
